Compassionate Science
Science is not always connected to compassion, love, or sympathy but rather, to innovation and ways to facilitate things already given. Compassionate science is almost unheard of, but that should not be so. As a human kind, we should use technological advances to help those in need whom cannot do or lack things we take for granted, instead of developing new machines to increase production and take people's jobs. I personally know I have the compassion to help those in need, but I do not have the drive great enough to do something about it. To me, feeling empathetic towards those deprived of certain things like a proper home or an arm comes easy, but it takes a great person to get up and try to change those things. After watching this video in film class, I am done putting up excuses for myself to justify my "inability" to help. I will put my part to try to change lives.
