June 5th

This week we turned in two movies for a grade. We have not uploaded them but we'll hopefully get to do that today after school. We filmed half of our third movie as ONE production company and have begun the editing process.

Friday May 29th 2015

This week was VERY productive! we filmed the entire movie on Monday and spent Tuesday and Wednesday editing. All we need is some finishing touches and our movie is done! :D

The week of May Friday the 22nd

This week was tough. Our main actor was in New York so we had to postpone all filming. The following week should be much more productive.

Week of May 1st

Jesus and I have come up with a great idea to bring awareness to an issue that is important to the both of us. We have already planned the scenes and thought of the dialogue. Hopefully we can finish the movie on time.

Week of April 10th

The movie should be done by April 20th. This week we started the editing process and got a lot done. While editing we realized that some shots should be taken from different angles to improve the quality and creativity of the film so we have to shoot one of two more days.

What Music Means to Me

I like singing. I'm not good at it, but every time I sing I feel better. If I'm sad I get happy and if I'm already happy I get excited. I like music that has great lyrics but most of the time this kind of music gets me sad, hence, I don't listen to music very much. However, I also like music that pumps me up and especially music that I can sing along to, even when the lyrics are HORRIBLE. I like listening to Spanish love songs. I listen to music most when I'm sad or working out. I find that I tend to feel best when I run while listening to "Fat-Bottom girls" by Queen. I wouldn't choose to listen to music, but when I do I love listening to hip-hop from the early 2000s because its just so energetic. I love to listen to Pink Floyd to relax, Queen when I'm cleaning or in the shower, and Coldplay when my world is crashing down. MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE PLACE TO LISTEN TO MUSIC IS IN A CAR. I LOVE to sing while I'm in the passenger seat while my window rolled down. My favorite song changes a lot but for sure these two songs will always be special to me: "Sweet Child O' Mine" by Guns N' Roses and "Time" by Pink Floyd.

Problems and Struggles

Though our school is not very diverse in ethnicity, it is very diverse in the types of problems kids face. One student's biggest concern may be dealing with a horrible teacher, at the same time that another student is dealing with a breakup, while another is dealing with drug addiction or depression. I think being in the magnet affects a student's possible problems because these students tend to give more importance to different things, not necessarily better just different. ANY problem is important, breakups, bad grades, domestic issues, because they all affect students enough to cause discomfort or emotional pain. I think at Bell High School, problems have a wide range within as little as one student; the same student who cried during a test can also feel the pain of domestic violence or drug addiction. Problems can rise from home, from bullying at school, or from stress due to a heavy course load. I have not experienced as many problems as some of my peers, however, I think it is important for every problem to given attention to, not matter how big or small t may seem to one person. Only the individual dealing with the issue can accurately feel the weight of each individual problem.

The Most Interesting Person I Know

I find all of my friends interesting, but I cannot listen to anyone just talk for hours. I cannot find listening for hours to be interesting no matter how unique that person's stories may be. I think conversations, stories, and topics are interesting but not people. So I'm writing about a fictional character named Inuyasha. Inuyasha is a half dog demon, half human individual who lives in a mythical land down a well in Japan. In his world demons and magic exist. It is a world full of fearful things and incredible sights. I think the only person I could listen to forever without interruption or conversation is Inuyasha because I would just love o hear about his world.

My Anti-Drugs

My anti-drug is eating and watching marathons on Netflix. Nothing makes me happier than eating wet burritos from King Taco while getting hooked on a new drama show. I like to watch documentaries on Netflix too so I don't feel like I'm completely wasting my time and I can actually learn something while I'm relaxing. I'm not sure if food could count as an an anti-drug because some people say humans are addicted to all the sugar in their food, but I'd like to point out that wet burritos do NOT have a lot of sugar.

I also really really REALLY love to learn. I easily get interested in almost any subject that is new to me. I can easily pick up a textbook and actually be interested in what I am reading.

Lastly, my fourth anti-drug is cleaning. Whenever I am feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or bored I love cleaning. Cleaning is almost therapeutic to me because it instant calms me down and makes me feel like I at least have control over this one thing.

An Inconvenient Truth

When I was younger I used to watch a lot of documentaries on World War II with my dad on television. These documentaries were very thorough and covered everything from how Hitler came to power in Germany to the effects of dropping the first and second atomic bombs. I remember feeling genuinely shocked and depressed. It was hard for me to wrap my head around the events of World War II, on the actions and war tactics taken by both sides of the war. I was shocked because at 10 years old I had not experienced that type of blind hatred. I had not yet witnessed any person outright do the wrong thing, when the right thing to do was so obvious.

The documentary, An Inconvenient Truth reminded me of this old feeling. The fact the right thing to do is so obvious, not only ethically but also statically, and still individuals choose to not recognize this issue quite honestly frightens me. I understand that one's job sometimes requires one to have to deny the issue, but then why are there companies choosing to make their employees deny Climate Change? When the Earth is at stake, NOTHING should be more important.

When Earth was shown as the space craft was leaving the galaxy, and our planet was shown as a very tiny pixel, Earth's smallness became even more apparent to me. We have no other home.
